AUDIOTS: Auditions with re-directs
Actors will receive scripts the day before, and they will choose one and record an audition, just as they would an actual gig. In session, each audition will be analyzed and re-directed by a Director, with the actor reading live in front of the group.

Grimoire Clinic
One of the best practices an actor can do is to develop characters that they can pull out as needed and kept in a Grimoire, or a character bible. (A Rolodex, if you prefer old-school terminology!) These should not be stereotypes or even archetypes, but deep, unique and interesting people that give depth to roles, and have the versatility to be put into multiple situations.
The Grimoire Clinic is the place to train, try out, and evolve everything related to creating or enhancing characters in your toolbox: something new, or deepening a role, possibly inventing an offshoot of an existing character, and so on. You can bring scripts, or scripts can be assigned in-session based on what you’re wanting to work on.

Demo Clinic
This clinic is designed to help you wherever you are in the demo process, from ‘I don’t know what I’m doing’ to ‘I think I have what I need, but I want to be sure.’ Ideally participants bring scripts they wish to work on with the express intent of whether or not these should be on their demos: does this character play well? Does it suit the actor? Does it need tweaking, or even to be taken out of consideration? How do others react to it? A real-world audience for feedback, PLUS a director to help you through the thought process and improvements.

Combat Clinic
Combat is so much more than attacks, hits, and deaths - it involves terror, stress and boredom; heroism and confusion; survival and moral choices. Most of us will never be in combat situations, yet it’s commonplace in video games. This clinic puts a granular focus on these aspects so that actors will not only be better prepared for actual combat games, but for any conflict resolution and realism, even when the only weapons are words.

Narration Clinic
This clinic focuses on the principles what it takes to give compelling performances in the “marathon, not a sprint” that is much of narration (documentaries, audiobooks, eLearning). Like Workout Groups, each instance of the Clinic is a bit different from the last: digging into manuscripts for acting clues, sustaining the listener's interest, vocal stamina, and minimizing mistakes in order to maintain performance. And never forgetting that, even when it’s a solo performance, it’s still character-based.

Steve Marvel focuses on what it takes to give compelling performances in the “marathon, not a sprint” that is audiobooks. Participants will learn how to dig into a manuscript for acting clues, sustain the listener's interest, and minimize mistakes in order to maintain performance.

“I auditioned for a role in a video game the day after we got back. I looked over the notes from your class before I recorded to get in the right frame of mind. AND I GOT THE ROLE! My FIRST audition after your class!!! Thank you so much! If that isn't proof for your pudding, I don't know what else you need!”
